Cattle Decapitation: 30 Years of Inhumanity
The Granada
Doors 6 PM · Show 7 PM
The Granada, Bottleneck, Replay, and Liberty Hall sit within a six-block walk of each other on or near Mass Street — Lawrence’s live music corridor, the reason touring acts stop here on the way to Kansas City.
Lawrence has been a live music town longer than most cities its size have any right to be. The four rooms anchoring the scene — Granada, Bottleneck, Replay, and Liberty Hall — sit within a six-block walk of each other on or near Massachusetts Street. On any given Friday at least two of them have something worth running between sets for.
This is where touring acts stop on the way to Kansas City. Where local bands cut their teeth. Where Lawrence’s after-dark identity actually lives. Heavy metal one night, country revival the next, a DJ residency the night after that. The room is rarely the same twice in a row.
Below: what’s on tonight, what’s coming up this weekend, and a deeper look at the venues themselves.

It’s a college town that has refused to be only a college town. The University of Kansas brings the volume; the venues bring the lineups; the late-night flow east toward The Outhouse keeps the night from ending too early. Most cities have to choose between “real music scene” and “walkable nightlife.” Lawrence has both, in the same six blocks.
