The Granada

1020 Massachusetts St · Historic Lawrence theatre, current concert room.

The Granada is the room you book when you want the night to feel like an event. Built as a movie theatre in 1929, refit as a concert venue, the layout still has the bones of the old palace — deep stage, balcony, marquee out front on Mass Street that lights up under the brick.

Touring acts that don’t fit Replay but aren’t headed for an arena land here. Cattle Decapitation, Cradle of Filth, Archspire, Tim Kasher tributes, country revues, the annual Lawrence Pride After Dark — the calendar covers a wider stylistic range than any other room in town.

Why people go

For the room. The Granada is the one Lawrence venue that feels like a real concert venue and not a bar that hosts bands — deep sound, real lights, a stage you can see from the back. Tickets are usually $20–$40 and the touring lineups punch above what a college town normally pulls.
